Plusnet currently have 12 x 622Mb BT Central Pipes giving a total
available bandwidth of 7464 Mb.
Each of these central pipes are split into 4 x 155Mb segments and terminate on Juniper ERX-1440's or Juniper E320's.
Generic information about BT Central pipes can be found on my page
about how adsl works 2 and more
information about the Junipers on how
adsl works 3 and also BT Centrals.
In addition to the BTw Centrals, they also have:
- a separate (flexible) LLU feed for customers who are on the LLU products
- Several thousand customers on the RIN network
- 4 x 155Mb Centrals for Brightview customers.
- As from 2009, customers trialling adsl2+ (Up to 24Mbps) via WMBC/WBC
Whilst Central Pipes have a long lead time, inactive segments can be deployed fairly quickly and Plusnet normally activate
one segment at a time as and when more bandwidth is required. To see what segments
and bandwidth is currently in use see the table below.

** There are several differences between the 622Mbps
and 155Mbps pipes, which means that throughput on a single 622Mb
pipe is more or less equivalent to 5 x 155Mb pipe. For more information
see my page on the BT
Centrals.
This page was getting rather long therefore I have moved some of the histotic information to a new page
- Plusnet Central Pipes historic information.
