"OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in
From Tools >>> Options >>> Security Tab.
Untick "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that
could potentially be a virus".
Microsoft have a support article about this issue in OE for a
Windows XP SP2 PC which can be found at :-
"Warning The "Block images and other
external content in HTML e-mail" option is a security feature
that has been included in Windows XP SP2 to protect your computer
against junk e-mail (spam).
We recommend that you do not turn off this option.
Click Start, point to Programs, and then click Outlook Express.
On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Security
Click to clear the Block images and other external content in
HTML e-mail check box.
Click Apply, and then click OK."
If you don't want to turn the option off permanently, open the
e-mail and then go to view and click on blocked images which should
then show them.
